Because pets age more rapidly than we do, they need wellness exams at least once a year. This exam should include a blood panel. Depending on the pet’s age, other tests may be recommended by the doctor. The blood panel tells us about the health of the internal organs (liver, kidneys, pancreas, etc.), monitors electrolytes levels, and checks for evidence of anemia or infection.
The information gathered can help us detect conditions before they become advanced. Often it is possible to slow or prevent the progress of these conditions with early detection.
Please carefully consider an annual wellness checkup for the love of your pet.
